Just a last minute reminder regarding the TEC fundraiser! It will be held this up coming Saturday, June 2nd. Tickets are still available (if you are unable to attend donations will still be accepted). As the attached flyer states, it’s all you can eat and drink. There is a 50/50 raffle, basket raffle, side boards, and door prizes as well. We will also be auctioning off 2 priests (for home masses).

Fr Joe’s farewell – some updates!

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for your enthusiastic response to Fr Joe’s Farewell!

Just a couple updates for you…

The FOP will be at Holy Family Church from 8:30-9:30pm on Fri May 4. (7367 York Rd Parma OH 44130)
We are going to have cake and pizza for everyone following the FOP (scheduled until 10:30pm)!! This will be in the Costello Center at Holy Family
I still have a handful (about 5!) dates left open on the prayer calendar. If you don’t already have one and would like a date, please let me know!
We are also doing a bag with letters for him. You can email them to me or Katherine Komar, or mail them to me: 25735 Lorain Rd #209 North Olmsted OH 44070. There will also be an opportunity to write them before the FOP. (The church will be open at 8pm and we’ll have stationary available.)

Also, Ron Reiter, the executive director for National TEC, is going to be joining us at this event. He wants to meet our community and get to know just how awesome we all are! This night is a great opportunity to show him, first and foremost, how much we love our Lord! Also, it gives us a chance to show how much we respect and appreciate our wonderful priests, and what a ROCKIN’ community we have!!

Hi TEC Community!

As the teams get ready to welcome the TECites of TEC 96, it’s also time to look a little further into the future and start to pray about whether you feel called to work TEC 97, July 13-15. Please note that applications are due by midnight, Wednesday April 25.

You can apply online or print an application and mail it to me. Go to the retreats page to find out more about working a retreat, including things to think about before applying.

TEC 96 Update!

Just wanted to send out a confirmation that we are in fact having a Mass on Saturday night. It will be at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception (2680 Stoney Ridge Road Avon, OH 44011) at 5:30pm. Fr Barry will be our celebrant!

Also, please don’t forget to come to the Die Day Prayer Service on Friday night. We are starting with 7:00 Mass at St Charles (5891 Ridge Road Parma, OH 44129), followed by a prayer service in Merici Chapel in the Parish Activities Center, and concluding with a simple dinner.

TEC Community~

Happy Easter! TEC 96 is this upcoming weekend!!!!! Our teams have been working very hard to prepare for this TEC weekend. This community doesn’t surprise me at all – each weekend I see the wonderful efforts of this community! It is important that we continue to pray for all those involved, as we all know the devil truly attempts to tempt us all as a TEC weekend comes closer. Here are some things you can do to help:

Sacrifice and pray for the participants! Offer your troubles and sacrifices for all involved.
Write “Die Day,” “Rise Day,” and “Go Day” letters. These are the general letters that our read during breaks, before and during meals. In these letters mention some of the discouraging parts of your weekend, the aspects of TEC which meant the most to you, and most importantly mention the prayers and sacrifices which you will offer for them.
You can come help clean up! Those involved with the Main Team of the last TEC, this is part of your responsibility; but others are encouraged to meet downstairs around 2PM on Sunday to help clean up from the weekend. There is also an opportunity to help clean up and take bins and put them away at our new location…so the more help the better.
Join us for a mass at 5:30 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Avon (2860 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon, OH 44011). (Mass is still tentatively scheduled at this point.)

Young Christian as Disciple Scholarship

North Coast Spirit Tec is offering two five-hundred dollar college scholarships to two participating members of the TEC community.

Eligibility

To apply you must be a teenager in the TEC community at the age of 19 or younger. You must be enrolled in an accredited trade school, community college, or university.

How to apply?

Complete the scholarship application sheet or fill out the form below.
Write a 250-500 word essay on: “How will/do you live out the Paschal Mystery in college?”
Attach essay to application sheet and email to Desiree Gould at DYRodriguez16@hotmail.com
Do not share your essay with other members of the TEC community as the discernment team will not know what essays will be submitted. You could be disqualified for sharing your essay with a member of the TEC community.
The application and essay will be due by MAY 1, 2012 by midnight. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

Discernment

A discernment team will be created by Chairperson Nick Naugle, Spiritual Director Fr. Tim Kalista, and four other members of the TEC community discerned by the NCS TEC Board. The discernment team will not be aware of the candidates for the scholarships as they read each essay.

Notification of Winners

Winners will be announced on June 2, 2012 at the 2nd Annual TEC Fundraiser. To receive your winnings you will need to verify enrollment in an accredited trade school, community college, or university.

“Fishing for FUNds” Fundraiser

Hello TEC community -

We will be having our second annual TEC fundraiser, June 2, 2012 from 7-10PM at Bleachers Grille in Parma, Ohio (same location as last year). The fundraiser will be called “Fishing for FUNds!” It is $25 for all you can eat and drink from 7-10. There will also be 50/50 raffles, sideboards, Chinese basket raffle, and everyone’s favorite auction a priest! New this year we will be announcing the winner of our inaugural Young Christian Disciple Scholarships (more info will be posted shortly). Last year was such a huge success we have raised our goals for this year!

Reasons for a fundraiser:

Rising food cost (we do not want to raise any fees at time)
Cost of retreat center going up next year (Center price is going up but again do not want to raise fees for TECites or those working weekends)
New music booklets (cost of licensure and printing)
Free TEC picnic, reflection days, etc.
Hopefully annual college scholarships
Increased cost from National TEC

Fundraiser needs your help:

Farewell, Fr Joe!

Hi TEC Community!

As many of you may have heard, Fr Joe Brankatelli is leaving this May to become a military chaplain in the Army. The board has planned a couple things to wish him well and give him our love and support… (This is the “more info to follow” that Desi mentioned with all the upcoming events!!)

We are going to have a FOP at Holy Family in conjunction with their youth group. The FOP will go from 8:30-9:30pm on Friday May 4 in the church. Afterwards, we’ll present Fr Joe with a gift from the entire community… check the Yahoo! board for more details (or you can email me, Megan Thomas or Katherine Komar). Fr Joe loves and cares for our community so much… please take the time to wish him well on this new adventure!
