Young Christian as Disciple Scholarship

North Coast Spirit Tec is offering two five-hundred dollar college scholarships to two participating members of the TEC community.

Eligibility

To apply you must be a teenager in the TEC community at the age of 19 or younger. You must be enrolled in an accredited trade school, community college, or university.

How to apply?

  1. Complete the scholarship application sheet or fill out the form below.
  2. Write a 250-500 word essay on: “How will/do you live out the Paschal Mystery in college?”
  3. Attach essay to application sheet and email to Desiree Gould at DYRodriguez16@hotmail.com
  4. Do not share your essay with other members of the TEC community as the discernment team will not know what essays will be submitted. You could be disqualified for sharing your essay with a member of the TEC community.
  5. The application and essay will be due by MAY 1, 2012 by midnight. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

“Fishing for FUNds” Fundraiser

Hello TEC community -

We will be having our second annual TEC fundraiser, June 2, 2012 from 7-10PM at Bleachers Grille in Parma, Ohio (same location as last year). The fundraiser will be called “Fishing for FUNds!” It is $25 for all you can eat and drink from 7-10. There will also be 50/50 raffles, sideboards, Chinese basket raffle, and everyone’s favorite auction a priest! New this year we will be announcing the winner of our inaugural Young Christian Disciple Scholarships (more info will be posted shortly). Farewell, Fr Joe!

Hi TEC Community!

As many of you may have heard, Fr Joe Brankatelli is leaving this May to become a military chaplain in the Army.  The board has planned a couple things to wish him well and give him our love and support… (This is the “more info to follow” that Desi mentioned with all the upcoming events!!)

We are going to have a FOP at Holy Family in conjunction with their youth group.  The FOP will go from 8:30-9:30pm on Friday May 4 in the church. Afterwards, we’ll present Fr Joe with a gift from the entire community… check the Yahoo! board for more details (or you can email me, Megan Thomas or Katherine Komar).  Fr Joe loves and cares for our community so much… please take the time to wish him well on this new adventure!

NEXT FOP will be on April 16th at 7:30pm St. Charles Borromeo with Fr. Ed Suszynski.

Applications to work the next TEC (July 13th-15th) are due by April 25, 2012.

DON’T FORGET – Friday, May 4, 2012 TEC will join the Holy Family Youth Group in wishing Fr. Joe Brankatelli well before he leaves for the Military. More information to follow.

Lenten Fish Fry

Hi there Tec Community,

So we as a board thought it would be a cool idea for everybody to get together this lent for mass and a fish fry at a local church in the area. We thought that it would be quite the good time. Therefore we are going to meet up on Friday, March 9th at Saint Albert the Great Church in North Royalton. It starts with mass at 5:30, then the stations of the cross right after that, and finally a fish fry to follow up the nightcap. Feel free to bring any friends or family (even if they haven’t made Tec yet).

Board Meetings

As we move more into the new year and you mark dates into your 2012 calendars the board wanted to give you the board meeting dates for the first six months of this year. We will be now meeting at St. Leo’s in Brook park, meeting are held in the Eylar room (which is in the basement of their meeting center, located to the left of the church). The upcoming dates are Feb 28, March 27, April 24, May 29 (which tentatively is to change), June 26. The meetings are from 7PM-9PM. All meetings are open to the community members. As always if you have any questions/concerns please reach out to any board member.
