We are excited to announce that Northcoast Spirit Teens Encounter Christ is now officially a 501(c)(3). What this means – donations to TEC whether from an individual or business are tax deductible.
How the CARES Act changes deducting charitable contributions for 2020:
With changes to the tax laws, in the past few years people who do not itemize their taxes have not been able to write off charitable donations on their taxes. However, as part of the CARES Act in response to the Coronavirus, taxpayers who don’t itemize deductions may take a charitable deduction of up to $300 ($600 for couples filing jointly) for cash(electronic payments are also acceptable) contributions made in 2020 to qualifying organizations. For the purposes of this deduction, qualifying organizations are those that are religious, charitable, educational, scientific or literary in purpose. Therefore, Northcoast Spirit Teens Encounter Christ qualifies.
